Fitzgerald Statement on Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after a continuing resolution was passed in the House of Representatives.
“Ever since President Biden took office, we’ve lost complete control over our southern border. Day-by-day we hear from border patrol and read reports that paint a worsening picture. To that end, I voted yesterday on a CR that would have provided sorely needed additional resources to secure our southern border,” said Rep. Fitzgerald. “Unfortunately, that CR failed with not a single Democrat voting in support of the resolution and a solution to address the crisis. Today, the House was pushed into a corner and was forced to put forth a CR with no additional resources to secure our border—a proposal I simply could not support. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues in the weeks ahead to pass the remaining appropriations bills and restore complete regular order to our southern border.”
