Fitzgerald Statement on Continuing Resolution

September 30, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement following House passage of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5305, the FY22 Continuing Resolution:

“Today’s continuing resolution was necessitated by the Democrats’ failure to govern. They retain control of the House, Senate, and Presidency but waited until the 11th hour to jam through this resolution, a completely inexcusable result. This spending bill also included unacceptable provisions that would grant blanket entitlement benefits to Afghan refugees and give authority over the Afghan vetting process to the Secretary of Homeland Security, who to date has overseen at best a rushed and incomplete vetting process. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Fort McCoy and as we’ve seen in recent news, unfortunately this process isn’t going as smoothly as this Administration would like you to believe.”
