Fitzgerald: Biden’s ‘Build Back Bankrupt’ Buries WI in Generational Debt

November 19, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after House Democrats voted to pass H.R. 5376, President Biden’s 'Build Back Bankrupt' trillion dollar plus reconciliation bill.

“Let’s make one thing perfectly clear, President Biden’s ‘Build Back Bankrupt’ plan does not cost zero dollars—a repeated lie told by Democrats across Congress and this Administration. Instead, the Congressional Budget Office reported this week that the plan would add $367 billion to the deficit over ten years. Not quite the zero-dollar price tag our President promised. Unfortunately, that didn’t deter Democrats from passing this boondoggle legislation, the third trillion dollar plus bill they’ve passed this year alone. The reckless spending must stop, and I will continue to oppose bills that bury Wisconsinites in generational debt,” said Congressman Fitzgerald.
